No it isn’t!

I agree, and I HATE when people use ‘nappy’ negatively to describe their hair just because they don’t currently like how it looks.
The crazy part it, EVERYONE keeps doing it!
Non-black people: “Omg my (tangled or dirty) hair is so nappy!”
Black people with straight hair: “Time for a touch-up, my hair’s lookin’ nappy.” or “Don’t want to get my hair wet, it get’s nappy.”
Black people with natural hair who want a looser texture: “I’m trying to get curl definition.  My hair looks too nappy.”  or “I gotta do somethin’ with my hair; it’s nappy.”  or “I can’t do a thing with my hair!  It’s so nappy.”
Black people with manicured locs: “Gotta handle these nappy roots.”
*irritated side eye to everyone*
Quit using ‘nappy’ as a hair slur to insult your hair just because it’s not looking how you think it should at that moment.
** Non-black people, quit using ‘nappy’ to describe your hair at all.
